Spaces of Light Award

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre annually organizes the Spaces of Light Photography Competition, aiming to represent the aesthetics of Islamic architecture that can be perceived in every corner of this grand edifice. This competition endorses the cultural activity that greatly enriches the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular. This competition is a distinguished initiative in the field of photography, both locally and internationally, introducing the world to the aesthetic elements of Islamic architecture, its properties, and its representation in Abu Dhabi and highlighting its unique and rich forms.

Many amateur and professional photographers join the competition every year, making it one of the world's most prominent photography and visual arts competitions. It is also a cultural event that attracts significant local and international attention, where the attention given to the competition has made it internationally remarkable.

Winners of the different categories receive cash and in-kind awards. Their names are announced in an annual ceremony organized by the Center to honor the winners of every category.
